Frequently Asked Questions
What types of lighting can you install?
We install ceiling lights, downlights, wall lights, decorative pendants, outdoor and security lighting, LED strips and more. If you are not sure, just ask and we will let you know what is possible.
Can you replace my old halogen downlights with LED?
Yes. We can replace existing halogen fittings with modern fire rated LED downlights, improving efficiency, light output and reducing running costs.
Do you supply the fittings, or can I buy my own?
We can supply fittings and lamps, or you can purchase your own and we will install them, as long as they are suitable and meet UK safety standards.
How much does lighting installation cost?
Costs depend on how many fittings are being installed, the type of lights, access, and whether new wiring is required. We provide clear quotes in advance so you know what to expect.
Will there be much mess or damage to my ceilings?
We aim to keep disruption to a minimum. Some drilling or small access holes may be needed, but we work neatly and will always discuss any making good that might be required.
Do I need to have the power off while you work?
We will need to isolate the relevant circuits while we connect and test the lighting, but we plan this with you so the rest of your home or business can keep running where possible.
Will I get a certificate for the work?
Yes. Where required you will receive appropriate electrical certification for the new or altered circuits, confirming that the work meets current regulations.
Can you help me plan the lighting layout?
Absolutely. We can advise on the number of fittings, spacing, switching and light levels to create the look and feel you want in each room or area.
Do you work evenings or weekends?
Where possible we can offer evening or weekend appointments, especially for business premises that are busy during the day. Let us know your preferred times when you enquire.
Which areas do you cover?
We are based on the South Coast and cover Portsmouth, Southampton and surrounding areas. For larger projects a wider area may be possible by arrangement.
Are you qualified and insured?
Yes. Work is carried out by qualified electricians with appropriate inspection, testing and Part P knowledge, backed by public liability insurance for your peace of mind.
